Asha Ntim is the author of The D.A.R.K. Brown Girl Book Collection and founder of the Chrysalis Program. The D.A.R.K. Brown Girl Collection was created to bring light to colorism and encourage African American girls to embrace their natural beauty. Through the response to her book collection, Asha created a mentoring program to address the concerns of parents whose daughters struggled with self-image, especially pertaining to being a minority in America.
The Chrysalis Program is now a 501c3 nonprofit organization that teaches self-confidence, accountability and practical life skills to minority girls age 5-17 through interactive, character-building workshops. Asha Ntim is a U of I alumna, a community activist and thought leader.
Asha Ntim continued her education at Keller graduate school of Management earning her masters degree in Project Management. Asha is very passionate about empowering girls to be their best selves by addressing the socio-emotional factors of being a minority; creating a space of growth, healing and transformation.
